Jacob was born and raised in Minnesota by a movie-loving family. It wasn't until his sophomore year as a computer science student that he realized that filmmaking would not only be a hobby, but a serious career pursuit.

Jacob graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2020 with a BA in Media Arts with an emphasis in cinematography. He completed a Steadicam Training Workshop in March 2020 hosted by Tiffen at AbelCine in Burbank, CA. He also holds certificates from the ARRI Academy as a Camera Systems Specialist, Large Format Cinematography, and Trinity Operation (future expansion).

 

Jacob has been working in the Utah film industry as a Steadicam Operator, Camera Assistant, and Director of Photography. He has worked with many clients, including BYU Vocal Point, Chamber Media, Dry Bar Comedy, and The Killers.
